The company discontinued the X3 due to the inferior modeling, tens of thousands of guitar player are getting amazing tones out of the HD, live and in the studio that X3 amp models sound like toys in comparison, while you still insist, the X3 modeling is better. Maybe they should switch to acoustic guitars and trade their cars for donkeys.Ĭlearly you have some beef with Peavey, but that has no baring on whether Revalver will be good or bad, common sense dictates that Just Like POD HD is more advanced that POD XT, Revalver 4 will be more advanced than Revalver 3, most of the time it's not good to go against common sense whether we like a person/company or not!Ĭlick to expand. You're the one who's saying that you can't hear or feel the difference between over a decade old amp modeling(POD X3) and the significantly improved POD HD series. If someone is unable to hear the improvements of POD HDs over the xt (not even POD 2.0), they shouldn't be in the business of playing amp simulations, because clearly they don't have the ears for it. Line 6 might have to finally retire POD Farm and put that old one legged horse to death and release an HD version that probably won't be as good as Revalver.Ĭlick to expand. And many prefer the sound of acoustic guitars over electric guitars because it's more natural, so why are some companies still making electric guitars?! Many prefer tube amps, so why even bother making accurate simulations? some people still prefer to travel using horse and buggy and they will never ever know what it's like to fly over the clouds and travel 10 thousands miles in one day, but instead if they ever need to travel the same distance, they will need to dedicate 10 years of their life and sacrifice entire life and family experiences to accomplish what the rest of humans can accomplish with minimal sacrifice accept for some cash. I can't see revalver 4 being similar to all amp sims currently available, it has to be in a higher league and if it isn't it would have to be a failure of Epic proportion, not likely. I'm very hopeful as revalver 3.5 sounds and feels as good if not better than all amp simulation software out there and I tried them all. I'll probably try a bunch the first day and if quite a few are good, I'll buy the whole bundle for 49 (upgrade from revalver 3.5). I'm sure there will be the ability to audition amps before buying them and that's the route I will take. 4 years in development, there must be tremendous improvement. The old amps have been remodeled with new audio engine, so I can't see that not being a huge improvement. It's similar to amplitube in that regard. I'm guessing there will be a bunch of new amps with constant development.
